This is one of Shona Lenaghan’s original paintings of her surrounding Scottish countryside created in her own unique style. This is an en plein air painting started on the spot and then finished in her studio.

Shona describes herself as..this is a painting of a local field that I love, bursting with vibrant poppies and wildflowers. I wanted to capture the fiery red of the poppies against the golden expanse, with hints of white and blue blooms to add some variety and movement. The dark treeline in the background gives the scene depth, while the misty sky softens everything, creating a dreamlike contrast to the energy of the flowers.
